Mark and Metal publishes measurements of gold prices from named public sources. These pages are information, not advice. The reader decides alone and is responsible for their own decision.

Figures are measurements not advice

Every figure on this site is a measurement of a published source, read at a stated date and hour. The site does not tell a reader what to buy, what to sell, or what to hold. Nothing here is an offer, a recommendation, or investment advice. The figures describe what things cost, not what a reader should do. A reader who acts on a price does so alone and carries the outcome alone.

The limits of the sources are the limits of this site. A published price is a snapshot, not a guarantee. A table can show what a rate was when it was read; it cannot show what it will be next. No figure on this page should be read as a promise about the future. The desk does not estimate what a price will do, and it does not suggest that any move is more likely than another.

An independent desk, not a broker

Mark and Metal is an independent editorial desk. It is not a broker, not an exchange, not a licensed adviser, and it holds no client money. The desk does not take orders, does not execute trades, and does not hold assets for anyone. Its only activity is to read named public sources, republish the figures with their date and hour, and link to the publisher so a reader can check the figure at its origin.

Responsibility for the figures sits with the publication's editorial desk. The desk reads the sources, notes the time of each reading, and answers corrections sent to the address on the contact page. When a figure is wrong, the desk corrects it and dates the correction on the page. No person is named as author; the desk itself is the accountable party.

Affiliate link to FxPro

The site links to one broker, FxPro, through an affiliate link. If a reader opens an account there, the site is paid a commission. The reader pays nothing to this site and nothing extra at the broker. The commission does not change the figures on these pages, and it does not change what the desk publishes. The affiliate relationship is stated here plainly because a reader deciding whether to believe the figures should know how the desk earns.

The broker's own site is operated by someone else, under its own terms and its own privacy policy. Following the link leaves this site. The desk does not control the broker's site, does not see what happens after the click, and does not answer for the broker's conduct. The link is the only commercial relationship this site has.

No accounts, no cookies, no tracking

This site has no accounts, no login, no newsletter, and no comment form. It sets no cookie of its own, runs no analytics, and stores nothing in the reader's browser. The pages are served by a hosting provider which, like any web host, keeps its own technical request logs. The site's publisher does not read a reader's personal data out of those logs.

Writing to the address [email protected] reaches the desk. Corrections are the reason the address exists: a figure that is wrong is corrected and the correction is dated. The desk does not answer questions about what a reader should do, because that would be advice, and this site gives none.
